Everything You Want To Know About Mohamed Salah

Everything You Want To Know About Mohamed Salah

If you’re a football fan, you definitely know legendary Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah. But how well do you really know him?

Net Worth

Salah’s exact net worth is a point of contention among different reports, but it’s estimated to be anywhere between $53 million and $90 million.

Salary

In 2022, Salah signed a 3-year £54,600,000 ($57,888,667) contract with Liverpool FC. This makes his salary £18,200,000 (almost $23 million) annually, meaning he earns a weekly salary of £350,000 (around $442 thousand). As a result, he is one of the top earning players in the Premier League.

Transfer

Salah’s contract with Liverpool ends in the summer, and there has been no renewal yet. Many fans are anxious to see if the footballer will stay with the football club or go. This seems to include Salah himself, as indicated by a comment he made after the match between Liverpool and Manchester in the English Premier League in November 2024: “I’m probably more out than in.”

Salah has recently offered himself as a transfer to none other than Barcelona FC. In spite of that, Barcelona wouldn’t be able to afford matching Salah’s current salary. Thus, he would have to accept a pay cut if he moves teams.

Barcelona has competition, though, as Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal is also on the move to recruit Salah into its team. While Al-Hilal has no problem matching and even exceeding Salah’s current salary, it would be a major change for him. After all, Saudi Arabia and England are two completely different environments.

Marriage

Salah married his wife, Magi Sadiq, in 2013. However, the couple have known each other since childhood, having grown up in the same village and attended the same school.

Just like her superstar husband, Magi is impressive in her own right. In addition to her work as a biotechnologist, she is also a philanthropist, doing extensive charity work in her home country of Egypt along with Salah. Together, they’ve funded schools, hospitals, and access to clean water in their home village of Nagrig.

Though she seems to prefer living more privately, as she has no active social media accounts, you can still spot Magi cheering Salah on from the stands during his matches. Together, they have two children: Makka, born in 2014, and Kayan, born in 2020.

Recent News

While Mohamed Salah’s performance on the football field seems superhuman at times, he’s still human. Liverpool ended up losing to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup with a score of 2-1. Viewers noted that Salah had a subpar performance compared to his usual capabilities.

Football Pundit Micah Richards speculated that this could be because it’s currently the Holy Month of Ramadan in Islam. This year, Ramadan started on February 28 and will end on March 30. Salah is a devout Muslim, and fasting means he most likely doesn’t have the same amount of energy as he would on a regular day.

But the season isn’t over yet. Salah still has a chance to turn things around for Liverpool in his upcoming matches. Regardless of what the scores will be, Mohamed Salah has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in the football field.
